Waiting on Wednesday: The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead

Waiting on Wednesday features upcoming releases and is hosted by Breaking the Spine.

The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines #4)
Author:  Richelle Mead
Publisher:  Razorbill, 438 pages
Expected Publication Date:  November 19, 2013

From Goodreads:
In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her. . . .

But the struggle isn't over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there's still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure—and re-education—looms larger than ever.

Pulses will race throughout this thrilling fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.

Why am I excited about this book?  First, love this series so much, even more than The Vampire Academy series.
Second, chapters are written from both Sydney and Adrian's POV.  Yay!

For those of you that can't wait, here is the first chapter.

    1. Out of all of Richelle Mead's books, this series is the cleanest (and I honestly can't remember anything really bad in it). You should definitely give it a try and see what you think! ~Pam

  7. I am DYING for this book. I'm also TERRIFIED because I'm pretty sure something big and bad is going to happen near the end. Sort of like it did in book 3 of Vampire Academy. Not the same thing tho. But I'm so excited for both viewpoints. Of course I was a sucker and read both chapters online already. Great pick!

    1. Yeah, I can't imagine it's going to go smoothly (what fun would that be?) Book 3 of Vampire Academy killed me. If she does anything like that...arghhh!! ~Pam

    1. I just love Sydney and Adrian, I think that's why I like the series so much. I loved Rose, but I feel like I connect better with Sydney. I guess it's because she's so normal and is thrust into this strange world. And even though I liked Adrian in Vampire Academy, you know it's Rose and Dimitri, no question, so his character sort of annoyed me. ~Pam

  11. I can't wait for this one either. I'm a huge Sydney/Adrian fan. I like them more than I liked Rose/Dimitri.

And the 19th November - day after my birthday :D Yay Definitely going to get this one somehow as a gift.

  12. YES YES YES. More than the first chapter was released though :). The second was also released recently - http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2013/08/19/the-fiery-heart-richelle-mead-exclusive/ - if you're interested.

I also like the Bloodlines series more than the VA series. As much as I appreciate Rose and how different she is than most YA protags., I'm still with Sydney. I love her social awkwardness and her vulnerability and body issues. I love that she's super smart and sexy - according to Adrian, who also beats out Dimitri now too. *sigh* It's so nice we get his POV too.

Why do you like the Bloodlines series more :)?

    1. Yeah, I think I saw the second chapter was released but I had already posted my WoW. I'll have to read that! And I agree with you about Rose vs. Sydney. Sydney is just so much more normal. Rose was always so badass and knowing she was awesome and beautiful whereas Sydney has so many insecurities that make her so likable. And she is so clueless when it comes to social situations, guys in particular. And I also love the way she grows in each novel, becoming more open-minded. Adrian vs. Dimitri. Obviously I love Dimitri, but he's such an aloof character, but Adrian is so not. I just feel like I know Adrian. So I think it's those two (Sydney and Adrian) that make like the Bloodlines series more. ~Pam

  13. I will be honest, I have yet to begin this series. I know. I know. I really need to. It took me FOREVER to read Vampire Academy (I finally did right after the last book pub'ed). I own the first & second books in this series, so it WILL happen.
