If anyone has gone, let us know!
This sounds awesome! I see a TON of authors that I would LOVE to meet!
ReplyDeleteI know, I thought the list of authors was just amazing. I think the festival is fairly new so I haven't read anything from anyone who has actually gone. ~Pam
DeleteARE YOU GOING? Who are you excited to see? Or would you want to see, if you were going?
ReplyDeleteAttending would be so awesome. I've never gone but it seems as popular as the RT Convention has become among YA authors. Melissa Marr kept organizing the RT Teen Day, and I think Y'ALLFEST was a product of Kami Garcia's effort?? I might be wrong, but hey, so many YA authors there!
Bardugo, Perkins, Rowell, Roth, Rossi, Lu, Hodkin, Forman, and Bray are all authors whose work I've read and loved and would love to chat with. There are some others whose books I own but still haven't gotten a chance to read.
I was thinking about going, but I think I have to choose between this and BEA so I was hoping someone had gone that could tell me about it. The list of authors is just amazing, I would love to meet so many of them: Veronica Rossi, Veronica Roth, Alexandra Bracken, Stephanie Perkins, Lauren Oliver (I would have to ask her how it all turns out for the characters in Requiem), Marie Lu, Michelle Hodkin...I could go on and on. ~Pam
Deleteomg omg omg. So i haven't been to this but I love Charleston and many of these authors and I am really tempted to just buy a plane ticket right now. I might try to go another year now that I know this exists. Is this set up like BEA? (Lots of free ARCS/author signings.) I can't imagine much beating BEA if you're deciding between the two!
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about this festival, but I'm thinking no free ARCs. The reason I think this is because one of the main sponsors is an independent bookstore and so I'm thinking they want you to buy the books. So I think the authors are there to sign and there are panels, but just not the free books. But I don't know for sure which is why I would love to find out from someone who has been. The list of authors is just so amazing! ~Pam
