Top Ten Tuesday: Please Bring Me To Video

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show
(set in a perfect world...in which movies don't butcher the books we love)

Sheri's List
1. All Our Yesterdays, Cristin Terrill
2. The Trouble with Flirting, Claire LaZebnick
3. Cinder, Marissa Meyer
4. Delirium, Lauren Oliver
5. The Bane Chronicles, Cassandra Clare

Pam's Picks:
There don't seem to be a lot of YA romantic movies so I picked two of my favorites. Great characters and great locations (Paris and London)!
1.  Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins:  Who should play Anna and Etienne?
2.  Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill:  Who should play Julia and Jason?
These two books are so completely action-packed that they should definitely be movies.
3.  False Memory by Dan Krokos
4.  Ashes (The Ashes Trilogy #1) by Ilsa J. Bick
Finally, I was so sad to hear that the pilot of Delirium didn't get picked up and now I can't picture anyone else as Lena other than Emma Roberts.
5.  Delirium by Lauren Oliver

  1. Cinder. Cinder. I could see how the Asian inspired culture could really come to life - and I could picture the futuristic aspect, but I also would really worry about how they translate the Lunar powers to screen. Whenever it comes to mind control things, well, it's hard to convey on screen o.O. At least I think. But of the YA adaptations out there, I'd love to see Cinder too! Also, have you watched the All Our Yesterdays webisodes? I haven't read AOY yet, but the webisodes definitely convince me that that book would make for a good movie :). As for Bane Chronicles - I believe there's a good chance for that, especially since they already green lit City of Ashes. If TMI is successful, they might turn to BC or her other series.

YES YES YES I'd love to see Meant to Be and Anna and the French Kiss. I am terrible with casting choices, so I can't answer your questions o.O. Maybe the guy who's playing Mason in the Vampire Academy adaptation could play Jason - they both have kind of goofy characters. The last YA romantic movie I'd seen was Nick and Nora's Infinite playlist -- we do need more! I haven't read either of the two you mention re: action-packed, but I think Dan Drokos's novel was optioned? DELIRIUM. Even though Fox didn't pick it up, I think it attracted enough attention that it might get picked up another day (especially when people took to twitter to tell Fox just that). Her latest novel, Panic, got picked up in a BIDDING war. Surely, with her legions of fans, they might pick up something with as adaptable a concept as Delirium has? Delirium, I think, would make for a better movie than Before I Fall, and that one, I think, actually has a director or producer or something like that.

    1. Definitely not enough YA romantic movies. And I didn't know about Panic, I'm hoping that book is really good. I hope someone does something with Delirium some day, such a great book! ~Pam

  2. I would definitely say Delirium as well, but with a different ending to Requiem. I was disappointed in that book. I would also change Alex's personality in the last one.

    1. False Memory is just so action-packed I thought it would make the perfect movie. The book needs a bit more character development, but that's not a worry with movies! ~Pam

  5. I was so excited to hear that Delirium would be a TV show and I was extremely disappointed when it fell through! I've heard through the grapevine that the rights have been sold and it could become a movie *fingers crossed*

All Our Yesterdays is one that I've been dying to read and by the sounds of it, I'm sure it would make a great movie!

    Great list!

  7. Anna and the French Kiss would be a cute rom-com. I love the Marissa Meyer books but even in an ideal world I would be scared to see these on the big screen!
