Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
These are in no particular order.
1. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas. This might be one of the best sequels I have ever read. Amazingly, even better that Throne of Glass.
2. The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. Loved this sequel so much. Definitely messes with your mind.
3. The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead. I really enjoyed Bloodlines, but each book in this series gets progressively better.
4. Frostbite by Richelle Mead. I thought Vampire Academy was just ok, but I got sucked into this series when I read Frostbite.
5. Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. This book did not suffer from middle-book syndrome AT ALL. Loved it.
6. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. What an incredible sequel. Focused on different characters but still brought the stories together.
7. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. City of Bones was good, but each book in this series just gets better and better.
8. Unravel Me by Tehereh Mafi. I'm still Team Adam, but for an author to take a villain like Warner and make him a viable romantic interest...that takes talent.
9. Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken. This book may even be better than The Darkest Minds.
10. Onyx and Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Both of these books are the second in the series (Lux and Covenant), and they just get better and better.

I agree with your comment on Unravel Me. I too am still Team Adam, but I now want Warner to have his HEA too (just not with Juliette). It was a fantastic book. And, I almost put Origin (Lux #4) on my list - so epic. Great list!

I agree, I do want Warner to be happy. And I loved Origin (I was being pretty literal with sequels, only picking second books). ~Pam
DeleteI loved City of Ashes and Unravel Me. I'm team Adam as well, but feel for Warner. I almost became team Warner, but still believe that Juliet is better off with Adam.

I do feel for Warner too, which is what I love about this particular love triangle. He's not just a plot device to keep the "true" couple apart, which is what it seems to be a lot of the times. ~Pam
DeleteAwesome list!! :) I seriously need to read the cinder trilogy & the rest of the VA books!!!
ReplyDeleteCinder and Scarlet are both so good and so different. I put off reading Cinder for forever, although I kept seeing it around and I'm so glad I finally read read it. And yes, definitely read the rest of the VA books! They just get progressively better. ~Pam
DeleteNOOOOO!!! You're Team Adam??? We can't be friends anymore... Just kidding. But seriously. Warner. LOL. You have so many great books on your list and so many that I want to read. Like Crown of Midnight. I want to read that book so bad it physically hurts. And I really want to read the Mara Dyer series and I need to read Richelle Mead's books because I've heard amazing things about them. I've heard mixed things about Darkest Minds, but if you liked it, maybe I'll give it a try. And I need to read some of Jennifer L. Armentrout's stuff bc again, heard great things. This week's topic is making me want to abandon real life and just start reading because there are just so many books!

I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed when I read Ignite Me (just based on the love triangle aspect), but oh well! Yeah, I know Warner is hot and he's in love with (or should I say obsessed with) Juliette. But Adam, what a great guy! My heart will just break for him if she ends up with Warner.
DeleteAnyway, yes there are so many great books to read!! ~Pam
Great list! I actually haven't read any of these books but I do own SHATTER ME and still can't believe I haven't started it. I also really want to read the Mara Dyer series at some point.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely read Shatter Me and the Mara Dyer series is so dark and twisty, it messes with your mind. In a good way. ~Pam
DeleteI couldn't really get into Vampire Academy but I hear like you said that it gets better later on in the series. The same with city of bones. I can't wait to read Throne of Glass. I just got it as a gift a couple of weeks ago. I hope to get it soon. I also haven't read the second book in Shatter Me yet but I heard the second is not to be missed. Great List.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget about your Liebster Award nomination. Until Later.. :)
Throne of Glass is excellent, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. And thanks for the nomination! ~Pam
DeleteYES to all of these, except Crown of Midnight since I've yet to read it for fear of the triangle. I also want to read Darkest Minds, but the series seems to be filled with cliffhangers, so I've been waiting until the series releases. Great list!
ReplyDeleteDon't fear the triangle in Crown of Midnight, but that one does end in a cliffhanger (not middle of a scene of anything but...). It's so hard not to read these series as they come out, I admire the fact that you can do it. I say I'm going to do that and then I never do. ~Pam
DeleteLoved Crown of Midnight and JLA books! I still need to read Evolution, Scarlet and Unravel Me :)
ReplyDeleteYou may want to wait and read Evolution until it gets closer to the last book. What an ending!! ~Pam
DeleteI wanted to put COM on my list even though I haven't gotten to read it yet. That's how much faith I have it the raving reviews, haha!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my TTT
It really is one of the best sequels I've read. Enjoy it! ~Pam
