Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Bookish Goals/Resolutions For 2014

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the Broke and the Bookish.

Here are my bookish goals/resolutions for 2014:

1.     Write quick recaps of books in series so I remember what happened so I don't have to reread so much.
2.     Write reviews right after I read the book (and before I start reading the next book) so I remember more of the book.
3.     Keep a list of current series I'm reading.
4.     Read the Game of Thrones series (I keep putting this off because I really love the TV show and how surprised and stunned I am at what happens, but I should read the books).
5.     Go to BEA.  I've never been and I would love to go this year!
6.     Only blog, post, etc. if it's fun and if it stops being fun, then stop.

Ok, so I only had 6.

What are your goals/resolutions for 2014?

  1. #2 was initially how I wrote reviews; it was pretty helpful, and I think it made my reviews more authentic, since the feelings were very fresh. And it also helped that I have a bad memory. But I'm getting better. And yes, BEA! Hope to go, too. I should probably start planning soon.

  2. I like the idea of writing recaps of books in a series. I usually don't go back and reread, so sometimes it's really hard to remember what happened in the earlier books.

  3. For #1, have you seen the websites Recaptains and Series Sisters? I'm hoping to go to BEA as a power reader since I can't go for the whole conference. Hope you're able to go!

  4. I try really hard to write my reviews right after I read the book or at least make a bulleted list of points before starting the next one so I can remember everything when I sit down to write the review. I hope we get to read GOT together this year! I'm pretty busy until summer. Would you want to wait until then? Omg go to BEA!!! I'm trying to go this year if only for the power reader day but I would LOVE to meet up with you! :)

  5. These are all great! You should totally go to BEA and we can meet! #1 is such a good idea, I never thought to do this but it makes total sense and would help so much. I need to follow #2 as well. And totally read ASOIAF, there is so much that the show doesn't cover.
