Help! Need Completed Series to Read

I am reading way too many series right now and the wait in between books is just killing me.  I've decided that I'm only going to start new series if I've heard incredible things about the book (like The Winner's Curseor it's a favorite author (like Jennifer Armentrout's White Hot Kiss).

I'm in the middle of many okay series, but I don't love them.  And it makes me really unexcited to reread just an okay book (and many of them aren't on recaptains).  So other than those series that are almost sure to be five-star reads, I'm going to try and concentrate on reading completed series for awhile.  Below is a list of series I've read that are completed:

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting
Angel Fever by L.A. Weatherly
Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Shatter Me by Tehereh Mafi
Pivot Point by Kasie West
Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone
Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Across the Universe by Beth Revis
Legend by Marie Lu
Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Article 5 by Kristen Simmons
The Graceling by Kristin Cashore
Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Paranormalcy by Kriersten White
Anew by Chelsea Fine
Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson
Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris
Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa
Embrace by Jessica Shirvington
Variant by Robison Wells
Eve by Anne Carey
Fallen by Lauren Kate
Die for Me by Amy Plum
Enclave by Ann Aguirre
Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
In the After by Demetria Lunetta
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
Healer series by Maria V. Snyder
Matched by Ally Condie
The Assassin's Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke
Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan
Darkness Before Dawn by J.A. London
Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick
Rift by Andrea Cremer
Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready
Divergent by Veronica Roth
The Alchemy of Forever by Avery Williams
Starters by Lissa Price
Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer
Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund
Tempest by Julie Cross

Hopefully I'm not forgetting any!

I have the following first books of series that are complete that I haven't read yet:  Firelight by Sophie Jordan, the first book in the Mythos Academy (the last book will be out February 25th), A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies, A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, and Storm Glass by Maria V. Snyder.  Are any of those worth reading?

And I didn't really like Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, Everneath by Brodi Ashton, The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting, Wither by Lauren DeStefano, or Gone by Michael Grant (I believe all of those are complete).

So, any recommendations of series where all of the books are out (other than those listed above)?  Help!

  1. The Redemption Series by R.K. Ryals is a pretty good fantasy series.

  3. What about Percy Jackson? It's middle grade, but it's completed and a lot of adults have enjoyed the series!

  4. The Lumatere Chronicles by Melina Marchetta a MUST. Immortal Beloved series by Cate Tiernan is a favorite. The False Prince series by Jennifer A. Nielsen is good if you like boy protagonists.

I need to finish the Angel Fever series, though I hear the love triangle revives in book 3, so I may not finish it after all. I'm so over those, as you know.

The Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins is pretty good, as is Hunting Lila/Losing Lila by Sarah Alderson and Holly Black's Curseworkers series.

I didn't love the Gemma Doyle series. But many have liked it.

The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner isn't exactly complete, but they come out about every 5 years and four have been released already.

But I totally understand wanting to read series that are completed instead of starting new ones all the time.

    1. You have a lot of great suggestions. I did read the first book in the Lumatere Chronicles, but I just never read the next one, I don't even remember why. I'll have to check out the Immortal Beloved series, I don't know if I had heard of that one before.

Finish the Angel Fever series, it just gets better and I don't even remember now about the love triangle but that's one of those books where you always know where her heart is so it's not one of those annoying ones where the girl can't make up her mind.

      Thanks for the suggestions! ~Pam

  5. I really don't have any recommendations off the top of my head--sorry to not be any good to you today--but I just wanted to drop by and say: I'm so with you. I'm over starting any new series unless I hear that they are AMAZING (like The Winner's Curse). So over it. I hope others are more helpful and you find something good. :)

    1. It just seems like every book is the start of a new series and I'm just overwhelmed right now with them. It's actually the second book that really kills me because it almost always ends in a cliffhanger, and for some reason I find it harder to remember the second book than the first so unless I reread, I'm completely lost by the time the last book comes out. But there are definitely ones I can't help but read, like The Winner's Curse. ~Pam

  6. Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon is about to finish up this year and there are five books in that series! You should give that one a try. I really liked it. The last book comes out April 1st!

    1. I've seen that series around so it's good to know it's about to end. I'll add that one to my list and see if I like the first one. Thanks! ~Pam

  7. I second The Queen's Thief. There's quite a bit of mild language in the first book, which I could do without and the MC can be annoying, but she is amazing with her plots and how her characters change. I think the second and third books were my favorite of that series

I actually liked Sophie Jordan's Firelight series and from the others that I've seen that you've liked, I think that one is worth it for you.

I would recommend Slayers when the third book comes out later this year. Then also The Darkest Minds when the third book comes out also later this year.

I know there are more, but I can't think of them. :)

    1. I'll have to check out The Queen's Thief. I actually recently read Firelight and enjoyed it (although I had some issues) so I'm planning to read the rest of that series. Thanks! ~Pam

  8. Ok I am going to have to think on this one and you might see some book recs coming your way on Goodreads. But I do have to say that I wasn't a huge fan of Everneath either but I LOVED Everbound and I was happy with Evertrue (although Everbound was still my favorite). It might be worth continuing with.

I haven't started it yet myself but the Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima looks really good and has good reviews. I plan on starting the first book, The Demon King soon!

    1. I have heard that about Everbound and Evertrue so maybe I should check them out (although I am NOT rereading Everneath. I'll have to read what the Seven Realms series is all about...thanks for the suggestion! And yes, send me some recommendations on Goodreads when you get the chance. ~Pam
