Book Review: Midnight Dawn by Jocelyn Adams

Review (Spoilers for Darkside Sun):
After that heartbreaking ending to Darkside Sun, I was so excited to read Midnight Dawn and it did not disappoint.  I loved it, but at the same time I was so frustrated by Asher.  It's obvious that what he did was wrong and that they're meant to be together so I really wanted to scream at him.  Addison doesn't know why she feels such attraction to Asher (although we do), and it was definitely different to read a book where the main character doesn't know anything and we know everything.  To be honest, I was a little confused with how much Addison remembered since it's been awhile since I read Darkside Sun.  Does she only have three weeks worth of memories? How does that work?  She still has to have basic knowledge about the world, how to do things, etc.  That could have been made more clear.  

Jocelyn Adams writes such amazing characters.  Addison is strong, funny, and feisty and Asher is the strong silent type, although he purposefully acts like a jerk to Addison to keep her away.  Great secondary characters as well.  

There's plenty of action as the group deals with a new villain (or is he?) and I liked the way the author made it unclear who the Sentinels should trust.  The wraith king seems to be telling them the truth and Izan, their leader, is definitely keeping things from them.  Things are not black and white and there are many twists and turns to the plot as secrets come out.  And the ending completely surprised me, I was not expecting that at all.  

If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend it.
