Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books People Have Been Telling You That You MUST Read

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the Broke and the Bookish.

Sheri's Choices: All of these have been at the top of my to be read list for months!
1. Pandemonium (Delirium #2) and Requiem (Delirium #3) by Lauren Oliver: I read Delirium almost a year ago and recently watched the pilot and definitely want to read the final two books in the series soon.
2. Flirting in Italian by Lauren Henderson: I am a sucker for books about teenage girls traveling abroad!
3. Incarnate (New Soul #1) by Jodi Meadows: While I've never  been a fan of stories about reincarnation I truly loved the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series so I think I'm going to like this series as well.
4. Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1) by Tehereh Mafi: The character of Juliette with her lethal touch intrigues me and I have read so many positive reviews of this book that I will definitely start the series in the next few weeks.
5. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell: I just finished Landline, which was my first Rainbow Rowell book and really enjoyed it.  Since this is the book most people argue is her best I definitely plan to read it soon.

Pam's Picks:
6.  If I Stay by Gayle Forman.  I keep hearing great things about this one and with the movie coming out, I need to read it.
7.  Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness.  Everyone raves about this series and I just haven't read it yet.
8.  Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman.  I'm not a big historical fiction reader, but I keep reading great reviews for this one by trusted bloggers.
9.  Winger by Andrew Smith.  I've never read this author and people seem to love him.
10.  Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein. This book has won a lot of awards and people seem to love it.  Again, I'm not a big historical fiction fan but I feel like I should read it.

What books are people telling you that you must read?  Do you agree that we should read these books?

  1. Code Name Verity!!!!!!!! Read it read it read it!!! Okay, I'm done.

I just bought If I Stay so I can read it before the movie comes out!! We should read it together. But Idk if I'm going to have time soon. I have a ton of review books I'm trying to work my way through... :/

  2. YES to Shatter Me, If I Stay and E&P! I haven't read the others on your list but Prisoner of Night and Fog and the Chaos Walking books are on my wishlist!

  3. Hah so I am going to be such a debby downer here. Sheri - I did not like book 2 & 3 of the Delirium series, Eleanor & Park (although I am def the black sheep on this one) or book 2 & 3 of the Shatter Me series. SO If/when you do read these I hope you enjoy them much more than I did!

Pam - If I Stay, Winger, Code Name Verity - get on that! Ash didn't care for The Knife of Never Letting Go though (if I am recalling correctly).

  4. I bought a copy of Winger and it got stolen before it even got to me. Sucks! I wasn't all that impressed with Shatter Me even though everyone seems to feel so strongly about it. I read it before people started really chattering about it and I just don't get the hype.

Even though I say that I'll still most likely continue the series at some point!

  5. Definitely read Code Name Verity!! Such a good book.

Everyone's been telling me to read Eleanor & Park and If I Stay, too. Great list!

  6. If I Stay and Prisoner of Night and Fog are AMAZING. Well, the sequel to If I Stay - Where She Went - is the best, but I liked the first a lot too. :D I also really enjoyed the Incarnate series! The romance is a little difficult to wrap your head around at first, but it's strong in the second and third books.

  7. Shatter Me is my trilogy, man. I don't know what it is about it, but I love it so much. Sure, the first book is meh, but the final two? I cannot express my love for that trilogy enough.

Eleanor & Park was the cutest book I'd ever read. I have to admit that their romance was a bit strange, but they were so adorable together, and I can't help but love it.

    Great list!

  8. The Shatter Me series is one of my all time favorites! The writing style is amazing. If I Stay and Code Name Verity are both great books as well, just make sure you have tissues ready!

  10. I definitely feel like you should give If I Stay a try, that one was a lot of fun to read. Shatter Me is a series that I really want to read, have owned the first two books for months now but still haven't managed to get to them.
