Waiting on Wednesday: March Picks

Waiting on Wednesday features upcoming releases and is hosted by Breaking the Spine. This is our monthly post, where we pick books that are coming out this month that we're absolutely dying to read.

Top Choice!  Even though it came out yesterday (so we're not really waiting) this was the book we were so excited to read that was coming out in March.

The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski

From Goodreads:
As a general’s daughter in a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers, seventeen-year-old Kestrel has two choices: she can join the military or get married. But Kestrel has other intentions.

One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction. Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin.

But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined.

Set in a richly imagined new world, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski is a story of deadly games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.

A Few More Fabulous Choices:
Panic by Lauren Oliver, a new book by the author of Delirum (March 4th)
The 57 Lives of Alex Wayfare by M.G. Buehrlen, a tale of time-travel at its best (March 4th)
Acid by Emma Pass, strong action heroine (March 11th)
Nil by Lynne Matson, fighting for her life on an island the heroine must find a way to escape (March 4th)
Dangerous by Shannon Hale, we're intrigued by the departure from books like Austenland (March 4th)
Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy, fatal illness, final to do list, and consequences (March 18th)
Ruins by Dan Wells, number three in the Partials Sequence series (March 11th)
Elusion by Claudia Gabel, a cautionary futuristic tale about virtual worlds (March 18th)
Disruption by Jessica Shirvington, a microchip, an evil corporation, and unexpected love (March 24th--I'm actually not sure about this date for U.S.)
