Contemporary YA Reading Slump: Which Book Should I Read Next?

I haven't had the best of luck lately with the contemporary YA I've read lately.  All of these books come out this Tuesday (April 15th).  To be honest, I'll probably end up reading all of them, but which one will get me out of this reading slump?  Any recommendation for which one I should read first?  Help!

  1. I am interested in all of these - I think you should read Geography first!

  2. Definitely Open Road Summer. NOT To All The Boys I've Loved Before. That one is fine but not sure it's good enough to get you out of a slump. I haven't read What I Though Was True but it's Huntley Fitzpatrick and I am sure it is fantastic so that would be my second choice but I KNOW Open Road Summer is fantastic :)

    1. Yeah, I remember you didn't love To All the Boys and that you gave Open Road Summer five stars. I actually wasn't planning on reading that one until I read your review because the synopsis just didn't do it for me for some reason. ~Pam

    2. I was hesitant to read it as well. I've been reading too much contemporary and there was all this hype but I figured "why not give it a try" and I am so glad I did. It really is a pretty perfect contemporary and I think you'll agree!

  3. So I haven't read any of these, BUT if you're looking to get out of a contemporary slump, you should read Don't Look Back by JLA next!! Amazing contemporary thriller. You'll love it. Unless you're looking for a fluffier contemp. In that case, Idk. I'm not that into fluff. But I've heard great things about Geography of You and Me, Open Road Summer and What I Thought was True. So hopefully any of those will help you out! Good luck!

    1. I'm definitely reading JLA's as soon as it comes out and then I was going to read one of those listed above. I hope all of them end up being better than those I've read lately. ~Pam

  5. I really want to read To All The Boys, I have the one on order and I hope it comes soon. I would say that one ;) I would also love to see what you think of What I Thought Was True, I found it really disappointing. I am also really excited for Open Road Summer. I vote To All The Boys :)

    1. I have started to hear mixed things about What I Thought Was True. It's hard when you have such high expectations, and I think so many people do because they loved My Life Next Door. ~Pam

  6. I really liked Open Road Summer and I can't wait to read What I thought was true when it releases. Looking forward to your thoughts on these.

    1. I don't think I've heard one negative thing about Open Road Summer so I think that one has a slight edge right now. I'll end up reading all of these, I'm sure. ~Pam

  7. I really liked What I Thought Was True, but I've heard that Open Road Summer is really good, too. I just snagged To All the Boys from the library yesterday. I CANNOT wait to read it. I've been dying.

So, yeah, I've been no help whatsoever, but with those choices you almost can't go wrong!
