Review:
This book was amazing.  This series is amazing.  The whole time I was reading it, I was thinking, this is why I love to read.  Seriously.  If you haven't read this series, read it.  I can't rave enough about it.  If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

Cassandra Clare…genius.  I feel so strongly about these characters.  I either love them or I hate them, but I care so much about them.  Jace, Clary, Simon, Isabelle, Alec, Magnus…I could go on and on.  How does she write in such a way that I feel like I know these characters so well? I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.  And the dialogue…so entertaining.  This book is dark, but there is still humor sprinkled throughout.  So many funny lines from different characters.

The world-building…this is why I'm not a writer, because I'm going to say it again…amazing.  We get so much information about the world, with demons, downworlders, shadowhunters.   Love the politics and the history between these groups.  And not only are the characters well drawn, but we also know about their ancestors.  So well thought out. It's rich, intricate, and detailed.   Everything just fits together.

The ending…tied everything up so beautifully, but also gave a nice introduction to the next series.  I don't think there were any loose ends that weren't addressed (other than what pertained to Dark Artifices).  So excited about certain people being in the next series, I hope she never stops writing about this world!!  It was sad to say good-bye, but let me just say, this is how you write a series ender.

*By the way, if you haven't read the Infernal Devices series, I would recommend reading it before reading this last book or it may ruin a few things.

  1. Happy to see you loved this series ender so much, it's depressing when the last book in a series is terrible. I've heard people are scared for this one because of how many characters she supposedly kills off, but you haven't really mentioned any shockers in that respect. Still get tempted to give this series another try, I read the first and didn't ever continue on.

    1. I stayed away from who gets killed because I didn't want to spoil it for anyone. I thought if I mentioned anything, even vaguely, I may give something away.

It actually took me awhile to get into the first book, but I did end up loving it. ~Pam

  2. Yay! So glad you loved it! It scares me a little because 1. It's the end of an epic series and 2. It's a freaking chunker! That thing is huge!! But yeah, I can't wait to get my hands on it and read it!!! I love her writing. This world she's created is so freaking amazing and I could seriously read about Shadowhunters and Downworlders all day.

    1. Yes, it was huge and I basically did nothing but read it all day (and night). But it didn't even end up feeling that long and part of me didn't want it to end! ~Pam

  3. MY COPY IS IN TRANSIT! I know not everyone loves this series - and I do like TID more - but aside from the sibling twist, I freaking love these books. LOVE THEM. I cannot wait. If it is as epic as Clockwork Princess (which it sounds to be) I will love it.

    1. Yeah, the sibling twist was so annoying…get a DNA test!! But still loved the series (although I agree, TID is better). I don't know if anything can beat Clockwork Princess, but it's so good! Have fun reading, can't wait to hear your thoughts. ~Pam
