Stacking the Shelves (8)

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!  It is hosted by Tyngas Reviews.

Pam's Weekly Haul

From Library:
The Forsaken by Lisa M. Stasse
The Boyfriend App by Katie Sise
Golden by Jessi Kirby
Gated by Amy Christine Parker
Shut Out by Kody Keplinger
Pretty Girl-13 by Liz Coley
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

Bought (E-book):
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
From NetGalley:
Monsters (Ashes Trilogy #3) by Ilsa J. Bick
Sheri's Bounty of Books

So I'm continuing with my theme of finding books for "Lost in Austen".  This week I bought the first book in two series that are considered young adult Austen spin-offs.  While I am certain that the Jane Austen Diaries series is considered young adult I'm not so sure about Darcy & Friends.  How do I know for sure?

Pride and Popularity (The Jane Austen Diaries #1) by Jenni James
The Importance of Being Emma (Darcy & Friends #1) by Juliet Archer

  2. Looks like you got some good books. I LOVED The Statistical Prob...! I don't remember if you saw my review of Gated. Interesting read. I also reviewed The Boyfriend App on the blog a while back. There were a couple of things that bothered me and if it wouldn't have had those things I would have really liked it. I keep forgetting to come check to see how you've been liking your Austen spin-off books. Have you loved any of them so far?

  14. Oh wow! Such a GREAT haul!! I loved The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. I listened to the audio, so that may have been why... but it was amazing. I really enjoyed The Boyfriend App too. It was cute. I liked Golden, but I was definitely the odd man out there because most people absolutely adored it. I hope you love it! I'm listening to Gated right now on audio, and it's pretty good. I'm liking the second half more than the first. I've heard a lot of awesome things about The Bone Season... I'm thinking about getting it myself, perhaps on audio. (Can you tell I love my audios?! :D) I've really had my eyes on the Ashes Trilogy too... it sounds really good. I hope you enjoy all of your goodies this week!! :)

    1. I've listened to a few audiobooks. I'm not the biggest fan, but it may be the narrators that I had. If my commute were longer, I'm sure I would listen to them more. ~Pam

  20. I love the look of your books from the library! So many there I want to read - like Golden and The Boyfriend App.

The Austen inspired books look great. I love the miniseries Lost in Austen and most new takes on her classic novels.

    1. I've really been trying to get books from the library lately. I used to just go to Amazon and buy everything, but now I check first at the library and most of the time I get the books in a week or so. Not the instant gratification of the one-click button, but it helps money-wise. ~Pam
